No one loves brown eyeshadow more than me, but where’d the colorful palettes go? The bright pastels? Statement shimmers? Even if you’re on the #cleangirlmakeup wave, surely, you could use a pop of something in your waterline for a night out or a wedding?

I’ve noticed that a lot of colorful palettes are coming from direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, or brands you can’t buy in major makeup stores, like Beauty Bay, Glamlite, P. Louise, Made by Mitchell, and Blend Bunny.

Colorful Palettes

At Sephora, most of the colorful palettes that interested me were Violet Voss, Melt, and Anastasia Beverly Hills, which are cute but expensive. Ulta has more affordable options like ColourPop, Juvia’s Place, and Morphe, (though I don’t recommend Morphe anymore because uhm… lawsuits). I was curious to see what rainbow and colorful palettes were out there and researched a few so you don’t have to.

For the sake of color, here are some colorful palettes I’m interested in trying:
