I understand we have to go to someone who specializes in what we want bc everyone can't do everything. That said, if you're a hairstylist, why can't you do a curly blow dry? That just seems standard. Hairstylists have so many stipulations and customers can't keep up.

I’m so sorry you are encountering this problem! If it’s any consolation ( I don’t think it will) I have long straight hair and my hairdresser in Cork in Ireland ( who probably hasn’t retrained since 2002) tells me she can’t do a curly blow dry on my hair! I mean seriously!

Yes! I never thought about this beyon the US context so I appreciate you highlighting this on a larger scale. There was a huge convo about this at the beginning of the year bc a hairstylist was complaining about how slow last Christmas season was and that's usually a great time to make money. https://www.tiktok.com/@anonymousally198/video/7326673970185407774?q=hairstylist%20complaining%20slow%20season%20stitch&t=1721153255396

People (American clients) were like A.) We can't afford it anymore and B.) We never leave happy so what's the point.

I know, the pricing I’m in Ireland is getting out of hand. I go to a hairdresser in a town in rural Ireland and the price for a wash, 1 inch trim and wash in colour was €120. The last time was 6 weeks before and it was €90 so at this stage I think it arbitrarily costed. Like maybe her electricity bill was due!! That’s all I can do now is look at things with dark humour!!
